Jennifer Anton is an American–Italian dual citizen, born in Joliet, Illinois, who now divides her time between London and Lake Como. A proud advocate for women’s rights and equality, she is dedicated to rescuing women’s stories from the margins of history—beginning with those of her own Italian family.
In 2006, after the birth of her daughter, Jennifer survived a life-threatening postpartum cardiomyopathy. Soon after, her beloved Italian grandmother passed away. The turmoil of that year deepened her resolve to preserve the voices of the women who came before her.
In 2012, Jennifer moved with her family to Milan, the same year Chicago Parent Magazine published her essay It’s In the Journey, reflecting on the joys of exploring the world with children. She then settled in London, building a global career in brand marketing with leadership roles at AB InBev, Revlon, Tory Burch, and La Perla. She maintains a home in Italy, and frequently is there to work and research.
Jennifer graduated from Illinois State University, where she was a member of Chi Omega. She holds a master’s degree from DePaul University and is an alumna of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. Under the Light of the Italian Moon is her debut novel, inspired by the extraordinary lives of her grandmother and great-grandmothers during the rise of fascism and World War II.
